Info Post for Mr Belt
May. 24th, 2017 01:34 pmPersonality: The first thing to know about Krim Steinbelt is that he is a miserable pile of secrets. With so many things weighing on his mind, Krim is nothing short of secretive. Squirrely with information, as well as having a strong desire to protect people from his failures, Krim works towards making up for past mistakes while making loads of his own currently. He does not impart wisdom so easily, hiding things in half truths and covering for his own mistakes.
Guilt is a big factor for his motivation. The guilt that he let a friend, Professor Banno use his Core Driviar system in order to create his Roidmudes which went out of control, the bad decisions he made when he left Banno and Heart without proving to Heart that not all humans were evil. Krim is Bad Choices incarnate. He keeps secrets, makes harmful choices as well as good ones, and protects people he cares for with a web of lies. He doesn't make bad decisions all the time, but when he feels that it is his fault, bad stuff happens. A lot of this bad decision making is because of his lack of Foresight. Krim has very short-sightedness when it comes to foresight, and he makes decisions based on the here and now. Krim cannot deal with the consequences of his actions as easily as someone else could, and thus carries a lot of guilt from the things he does and says.
He wishes he could take back a lot of things he said and done, but a major issue of course is that he cannot change the past. For 15 years he spent his time in regret for never showing Heart that he could change his outlook on life, completely missing that very point because he is unable to get the message behind why Heart killed him in the first place. Krim is bad at reflecting on his own actions, often beating himself up for the issues he has caused.
However, when you move past Krim's extremely poor choices and guilt, he is also a very goofy man. Krim enjoys the wild or simple things in life, an adrenaline junkie to the last. He collects vintage cars and loves going fast. Even as a belt he loves to drive the Tridoron, be in the heat of combat, and even slows down for the simple things such as watching a solar eclipse with Rinna on the roof, and taking a milk break with the crew. Being without proper social interaction for a long time now, he is also very direct, and manages to state the obvious even when everyone else is reserving judgment.
Krim does not forget. Even as a belt, he has vivid dreams of his murder to this day, and he will never forget the atrocities Professor Banno Shijima caused to the world, to Heart and to his family. If there is one thing that can enrage Krim the most, it's Banno. Even after his death, Krim never forgave, never forgot. And to his credit, Krim knew that Banno was a horrible excuse for a human being. Banno's existence would be a carefully guarded secret, as Krim almost refuses to talk about him. Banno is like an open wound, that if aggravated will fester his rage. Krim does not get to unreasonable levels, but nothing hurts than Banno's deeds. Other things that get Krim upset are people who care nothing for the danger they put others into, and people who care nothing for their lives. To him, the loss of life is a hot-temper subject and he will advocate stemming loss for human lives.
However that is to say that Krim is not anything but loyal. Krim, as a solitary man on a mission to destroy what he built, has earned the friendship of his companions and as a result is completely loyal to them. While he has differing levels of trust and loyalty to each of the members, he will never, ever, betray them, and has contingency plans in case his loyalty is ever brought into question by an outside force. Krim also respects Heart's desire, not to the extent Shinnosuke could call him friend, but he now realizes why Heart murdered him in the first place: because he walked away at that crucial moment. Loyalty is a major trait of Krim's personality, as he learns it is a two-way street, giving and taking in equal measure. He realizes now that being a good person, is not the same as being a good friend.
